Study in Germany, State or Private university?
Germany’s universities are recognised internationally; in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), 6 of the top 100 universities in the world are in Germany, and 18 of the top 200. The majority of German universities are run by the state. These public institutions are tax-funded and do not charge any tuition fees at all. Yes… also international students do not have to pay for their education.
All students only have to contribute a small fee of around EUR 60-500 per semester, to cover administrative costs and in most cases, public transportation subsidies. It is really depending on which city and federal state you are studying, so for example… Stuttgart and Munich would charge more semester fees compared to Berlin or Hamburg.
